Commission provides conditional clearance for Volvo's takeover of Renault's "truck business" subsidiary

Brussels, 05/09/2000 (Agence Europe) - As we announced yesterday, the European Commission has authorised the takeover by the Swedish manufacturer Volvo of Renault Vehicules Industries (RVI), 100% subsidiary of Renault SA. The parties have nevertheless undertaking vis-à-vis the Commission to abolish the links uniting them to Scania, another Swedish light vehicle manufacturer, and Iveco, a subsidiary of the Italian group Fiat, within a set timeframe.
