Further preparatory meeting for resumption of formal negotiations on association agreement

Brussels, 07/07/2000 (Agence Europe) - A European Commission delegation will be in Algiers on Tuesday 11 June to continue "technical negotiations" over an association agreement designed in the same spirit as those already signed with Tunisia and Morocco. You may recall that Algeria persists in its demand for an agreement better adapted to its specific economic situation: no great exporter to the EU (except for hydro-fuels), Algeria is seeking cooperation to put its economy in order rather...
