Call by EP to Sudan for them to free kidnapped children

Strasbourg, 07/07/2000 (Agence Europe) - The EP urgently adopted a resolution on the kidnapping of children Lord's Resistance Army (LRA), which is fighting an armed rebellion in northern Uganda supported by the Sudanese government. The EP signals that, according to UNICEF, the LRA kidnapped more than 14,000 children who are subjected to "extreme beatings and are forced to reap terror in their own community," and calls on Sudan to co-operate in their immediate and unconditional liberation....
