Parliament calls for measures to fight against trafficking in human beings - Council Presidency announces several initiatives

Strasbourg, 07/07/2000 (Agence Europe) - Adopting a joint resolution from four political groups (EPP/DE, ESP, ELDR and TDI) on illegal immigration, the European Parliament expressed is concern in the light of the Dover tragedy and called on the Council to take measures to regulate the flows of migrants and fight against organised Mafias' who run the trafficking in human being. It recalls the conclusions of the recent summit in Feira and reasserts that it is very important to achieve progress...
