In Belgium, the banking and insurance company KBC and the speech technology specialist L&H - LERNOUT & HAUSPIE have announced the creation of a joint venture to develop and market a pocket computer for accessing the Internet via a touch screen. KBC is planning to invest 100 million Belgian francs in the new company and the two partners are also seeking funding from other sources.
