EUR 175 million loan for Toyota plant in Onnaing (Nord-Pas-de-Calais)

Luxembourg, 22/06/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Investment Bank is granting a loan of EUR 175 million (FF 1.15 billion) to the Toyota group for construction of a car assembly plant in Onnaing in Nord-Pas-de-Calais. The EIB points out in its press release that this project will make it possible to create around 2000 new jobs in the Valenciennes region as well as some 500 more jobs at Toyota suppliers in Europe (Bosch, Valeo, Faurecia, Allibert, etc.).
