Commission welcomes Austria's reaction to blocking access to Brenner Pass

Brussels, 22/06/2000 (Agence Europe) - Regarding information on the likely blocking of access to the Brenner Pass (between Austria and Italy), the European Commission welcomed the smooth implementation by Austria of the "rapid intervention mechanism" established end 1998 by the Fifteen to eliminate barriers to the free movement of goods in the single market.
