Parliament calls for elimination of obstacles to free choice in pension funds and for steps toward a single market in this area

Strasbourg, 18/04/2000 (Agence Europe) - With its adoption in a vote of 117 to 85 (with 11 abstentions) of the report by German Social Democrat Wilfried Kuckelkorn on the Green Paper on supplemental pensions in the single market, the European Parliament lent its support to the European Commission's proposals on developing a single market for pension funds. The proposals are designed to eliminate obstacles to free choice in pension funds, free movement of persons, freedom to provide services...
