In Austria, JULIUS MEINL AG sold 93 subsidiaries specialised in chain supplying of the Austrian supermarkets SPAR AG (turnover of 38.6 billion Austrian Shillings in 1999 with a workforce of 18,800 people and 1,500 stores), with the exception of its subsidiary Prestige located in Wiener Graben.
