The French group DANONE is in talks with the Japanese group YAKULT HONSHA (turnover of EUR 2.1 billion for the 1998-1999 financial year), of which it holds already 5% of its capital in view of a possible alliance in the "probiotiques" sector. DANONE is already active in this area with the "Actimel" product.
