Mr. Lemierre towards presidency of EBRD, but other candidates are announced

Lisbon, 11/04/2000 (Agence Europe) - French Finance Minister Laurent Fabius confirmed to his colleagues on Saturday, meeting for an informal EcoFin Council meeting, that France had its candidate for the Presidency of the Erbd: Jean Lemierre, current director of the Treasury. The post is vacant since the appointment of the current president, Germany's Horst Koehler, as president of the IMF and it is normally up to the EU to choose the successor.
