11/04/2000 (Agence Europe) - With the adoption, by 453 votes for, 1 against and 3 abstentions, of the report by British Conservative Timothy Kirkhope, the European Parliament approved the Austrian initiative concerning the fight against child pornography on the Internet. It calls, however, for the draft Council decision to be strengthened. The Parliament amendments aim above all at making the definition of offences stricter.
