Security firms are entitled to set up their place of business in any Member State, without restrictions related to law and order

Luxembourg, 23/03/2000 (Agence Europe) - Security firms are companies like any other and must be allowed to benefit from freedom of establishment and freedom to provide services in all the EU countries. A Member State cannot impose restrictions related to law and order given the particular nature of these firms' activities, ruled the European Court of Justice in a judgement against Belgium, but with general value as it is applicable to the entire EU.
