European Liberal-Democrat Party welcomes Liberal inspiration of Summit - Moderation and balance regarding Austria

Lisbon, 23/03/2000 (Agence Europe) - "It is a question of a summit of Liberal ideas, with emphasis on Social-Democrat ideas", said Belgian Prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt, following the meeting of the European Liberal Party in preparation for the Lisbon Summit. "The Summit's challenge will be to create a framework for an economy based on knowledge, job-creation, and an inflation rate at around 2%, with growth at 3%, using the new technologies as driving force", he declared.
