Volkswagen announces appeal in case of aid to its plants in eastern Germany

Dresden, 15/02/2000 (Agence Europe) - The German automobile company Volkswagen has announced that it would lodge an appeal before the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg against the ruling of the Court of First Instance (CFI) which had gone against the company in the case of State aid to its plants in Saxony (where VW had taken over the factories of the former Trabant firm). In 1996, the European Commission had approved aid for 270 million euro but had refused the additional 120 million...
