The American firm KERR-MCGEE has taken almost all the titanium dioxide activities (a white pigment used in paint and paper) of the Finnish firm KEMIRA for 400 million euro, enabling it to rise to third place in the world for white pigments. The acquired activities had a turnover in 1999 of 330 million euro with an annual production of 200,000 tonnes.
