ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) paper

Canadian group ABITIBI-CONSOLIDATED (annual turnover Can$3.4 billion) is to make a public purchase bid on its compatriot DONOHUE (annual turnover Can$2.3 billion with 7,800 employed) for the sum of Can$7.1 billion, an operation which will make ABITIBI the largest paper company in the world.
