ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) optics

American CISCO SYSTEMS (network equipment) has concluded an agreement with Italian PIRELLI for the acquisition of its optical networks subsidiary, for the sum of around $2 billion. This is CISCO's largest acquisition to date in Europe.
