Ministerial meeting on preparation of the summit, security and Nordic cooperation

Brussels, 07/02/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Union and Canada met at ministerial level on Sunday and Monday, 6 and 7 February, in Ottawa. Commissioner Christopher Patten and the President of the Council of the Union Jaime Gama (Portugal's Minister for Foreign Affairs) held talks with Canada's Foreign Minister Lloyd Axworthy on recent developments in the EU and the priorities of the Portuguese Presidency for the next Euro-Canadian Summit, which it will host on 26 June 2000.
