Under certain conditions, Commission approves take over of BOC (UK) by Air Liquide (France) in industrial gas sector

Brussels, 18/01/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has authorised the world's number one in the supply of industrial gas, Air Liquide (France), to take over the world's number two in the sector, BOC (UK) as long as Air Liquide sells part of its activities in France, the United Kingdom, Belgium and the Netherlands. In July 1999, Air Liquide and the American firm Air Product and Chemical Inc (world's number 4) notified the joint takeover of BOC through a public £7.2 billion bid....
