Adoption of Objective 2 lists for Austria, France, Sweden and Luxembourg

Brussels, 18/01/2000 (Agence Europe) - As expected, on Tuesday, the European Commission adopted the lists of Austrian, French, Swedish and Luxembourg regions eligible for Community aid under "Objective 2" of the Structural Funds for the 2000-2006 period (see yesterday's EUROPE, p.16).

In Austria, the areas eligible are Niederostereich, the region of Vienna, Kanten, Steiermark, Oberosterreich, Salzbourg, Tyrol and Voralberg. Over 2 million inhabitants re thus concerned.
