European Parliament adopts targeted changes to CO2 emission standards for new heavy commercial vehicles

The European Parliament adopted the targeted amendment to the Regulation on CO2 emission standards for new heavy commercial vehicles at its plenary session in Strasbourg on Thursday 12 March, with 473 votes in favour, 81 against and 9 abstentions.

Like the Council of the EU (see EUROPE B13812A11), the Parliament supported the European Commission’s proposal without amending it, despite an attempt by the Greens/EFA and The Left Groups to reject and amend the text. The targeted amendment,...
