European Parliament approves agreement with EU Council on revision of Package Travel Directive

Brussels, 12/03/2026 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 12 March, the European Parliament approved (537 votes in favour, 2 against and 24 abstentions) the agreement with the Council of the EU on the revision of the Package Travel Directive. Reached in December (see EUROPE B13765A7), the agreement includes a new definition of package that is adapted to online booking platforms, and abolishes the existing category of linked travel arrangements (LTA) in favour of uniform criteria.
