Socialists and Democrats firmly deny having neglected negotiations on recasting of ‘Returns’ regulation in parliamentary committee

Criticised for their position during the negotiations on the reform of the ‘Returns’ regulation, the Socialists and Democrats (S&D) are fighting back.

In a statement issued on Thursday 12 March, the group’s French delegation firmly denied comments made by François-Xavier Bellamy (European People’s Party, French) questioning their lack of commitment during discussions with the lead rapporteur, Malik Azmani (Renew Europe, Dutch) (see EUROPE B13824A10).
