27/11/25 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 27 November, the European Parliament strongly condemned the renewed persecution of the Bahá’í community and the systematic repression of all religious and ethnic minorities and women. In the resolution it adopted (549 votes in favour, 7 against and 31 abstentions), the European Parliament calls on Iran to immediately cease all discrimination and all violations of fundamental rights and to immediately release all those detained for their religion or beliefs and for defending human rights. MEPs also call on the EU and Member States to raise the deteriorating human rights situation in Iran, including violations of religious freedom, in all dialogues with Iran, and to impose sanctions on Iranian judges, prosecutors and intelligence agents who persecute Bahá’ís.
