According to Copernicus, September 2025 was third hottest September on a global scale

10/10/2025 (Agence Europe)According to the monthly bulletin from the European Commission’s climate change observatory, Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S), published on Friday 10 October, September 2025 was the third warmest September on a global scale, with an average air temperature of 16.11°C, or 0.66°C above the average for the reference period, which runs from September 1991 to September 2020. In addition, the 12-month average temperature from October 2024 to September 2025 was 0.63°C above the 1991-2020 average and 1.51°C above the pre-industrial level. The average temperature across continental Europe in September was 15.95°C, 1.23°C higher than the average for September 1991-2020, the fifth highest on record for that month.
