10/10/2025 (Agence Europe) – According to the monthly bulletin from the European Commission’s climate change observatory, Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S), published on Friday 10 October, September 2025 was the third warmest September on a global scale, with an average air temperature of 16.11°C, or 0.66°C above the average for the reference period, which runs from September 1991 to September 2020. In addition, the 12-month average temperature from October 2024 to September 2025 was 0.63°C above the 1991-2020 average and 1.51°C above the pre-industrial level. The average temperature across continental Europe in September was 15.95°C, 1.23°C higher than the average for September 1991-2020, the fifth highest on record for that month.
