EU Council formally adopts EU/Canada agreement on transfer of air passenger data

14/04/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 14 April, the EU Council adopted a decision formally concluding an agreement between the EU and Canada on the transfer and use of Passenger Name Record (PNR) data(see EUROPE B13598A25, B13582A11). The agreement defines the conditions for the transfer of PNR data from the EU to Canada for the prevention, detection, investigation and prosecution of terrorist offences or serious transnational crimes.
