14/04/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 14 April, the Council of the European Union officially adopted the EU’s macrofinancial assistance to Jordan in the amount of €500 million to support the country’s reform agenda and the respect of democratic standards and values such as the defence of human rights and a multi-party parliamentary system (see EUROPE 13612/7). The advantageous loans, which will be granted in three tranches over two and a half years, will be repaid over a maximum period of 35 years, with a possible grace period.
