04/12/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 4 December, the Hungarian Presidency of the EU Council announced that the Member States’ ambassadors to the EU (Coreper) had agreed on a text in order to “reach a partial general approach” on the directive harmonising certain aspects of insolvency law, proposed by the European Commission in December 2022 (see EUROPE 13079/2, 13432/10). The recommended reforms are considered essential to complete the integration of European financial markets, but are the subject of difficult negotiations (see EUROPE 13474/11). (BD)
