European Parliament approves delegated act adding raw materials to list for production of biogas and biofuels

24/04/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 23 April, echoing the vote in committee (see EUROPE 13387/9), MEPs rejected by 245 votes to 331 with 31 abstentions the objection to the delegated act concerning Annex IX of the Renewable Energy Directive (see EUROPE 13296/32), adding raw materials for the production of biofuels and biogas. In particular, this delegated act introduces a division in the regulatory treatment of the same raw materials according to their end use as fuel (aviation or all other modes of transport).
