European Commission disburses €1.5 billion in macrofinancial assistance to Ukraine

24/04/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 24 April, the European Commission disbursed a second payment to Ukraine, this time of €1.5 billion, as part of the bridging financing provided by the European Union before the €50 billion ‘Ukraine Facility’ for the period 2024-2027 (see EUROPE 13344/18) becomes fully operational. Initial bridge financing of €4.5 billion was disbursed in March. The Commission is currently assessing the reform and investment programme submitted by Ukraine for the implementation of the ‘Ukraine Facility’.
