On Tuesday 23 April, following the adoption of the revised Horizon Europe 2023-2025 work programme (see EUROPE 13393/9), the European Commission announced that it was opening new calls for more than €1.25 billion to support research under the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA).
Three calls will be launched this week: - a call for MSAC post-doctoral fellowships to help experienced researchers acquire new skills and develop their careers by working abroad – with a budget of €417.2 million. This opens on Tuesday 23 April and closes on 11 September; - A COFUND MSCA call, which helps organisations to create or improve their doctoral training and postdoctoral fellowship programmes, will have a budget of €104.8 million. It also starts on Tuesday 23 April and runs until 26 September; - a €2 million call for policy feedback initiatives, which will open on 25 April and close on 3 September.
In addition, the European Commission has already announced that it will be launching two other major calls this year: - one, with a budget of €608.6 million, will be aimed at MSCA doctoral networks. It will be launched on 29 May and will close on 27 November; - the other, with a budget of €99.47 million, will fund exchanges of personnel within the framework of the MSCA. These exchanges encourage international trade. The call will be launched on 19 September and close on 5 February 2025.
