23/04/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 23 April, the European Commission appointed Jan Dusik as Deputy Director-General of ‘Innovation, Adaptation and Resilience and Stakeholder Relations’ at its Directorate-General for Climate Action (DG CLIMA), whose main task is to support its efforts to combat climate change at EU and international level. Mr Dusik’s date of effect will be determined later. The Czech-born expert worked for the Ministry of the Environment in his home country, where he held a variety of positions. In particular, he coordinated the Czech Republic’s climate diplomacy activities during its Presidency of the Council of the EU in 2022 and also led ministerial negotiations during COP27 on behalf of the EU.
