15/02/2023 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission decided on Wednesday 15 February to close its infringement proceedings against the UK after the UK made available the traditional own resources and interest due to the EU budget. The Commission had opened proceedings on 8 March 2018 after a report by the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) found that UK importers had evaded customs duties. After several exchanges between the Commission and the UK, the case was brought before the Court of Justice of the European Union. The Court handed down its judgement (case C-213/19) on 8 March 2022.
