During discussions on the rule of law in Malta on Thursday 25 January, the European Commission told members of the committee on civil liberties (LIBE) that the forthcoming report on Malta, in the framework of the ‘European Semester’ budgetary process, would contain an “exhaustive section on corruption”. The Commission has not produced its report on corruption in the EU for several years, the Commission’s representative acknowledged at the meeting of the committee.
