France is found guilty of failing to ban gillnets

Brussels, 05/03/2009 (Agence Europe) - In a judgement (C-556/07) on Thursday 5 March, the Court of Justice of the European Communities found France guilty of failing to ban “thonaille” (tuna gillnet) fishing, despite the Community prohibition of drift nets since early 2002 (EUROPE 9854).
