2009 Joint Report on Social Protection and Social Inclusion focuses on role of social policies in current economic recession

Brussels, 05/03/2009 (Agence Europe) - In Brussels on Thursday 5 March, the European Commission presented the 2009 Joint Commission-Council Report on Social Protection and Social Inclusion, which assesses the role of the social policies in this period of economic recession, and also the latest versions of the national strategies presented in autumn 2008, under the open method of coordination (OPC) applied to social policies.
