Brussels, 05/03/2009 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 5 March, the European Commission adopted a regulation on travellers bringing animal derived products into the EU. This regulation replaces current rules and will enter into force on 1 May 2009. It has been adopted due to risks of these products (introduced in luggage or post) presenting a risk to Community herds as vectors of certain animal diseases such as foot and mouth.
