Commission pursues infringement actions against Germany

Brussels, 22/12/2005 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has decided to pursue legal action against Germany over two cases involving infringements of EU laws to protect the environment. The Commission is taking Germany to the European Court of Justice over its rules governing the use of agricultural fertiliser because they are not fully in line with the EU Nitrates Directive (91/676/EEC) which prevents excess levels of nitrates getting into surface and ground water from animal waste...
