Mixed reports from EP on Bulgaria and Romania, pending decisive verdict of Commission in May 2006

Strasbourg, 22/12/2005 (Agence Europe) - As we briefly indicated (EUROPE 9091), the European Parliament last week adopted the report by Geoffrey van Orden (EPP-ED, United Kingdom) and Pierre Moscovici (PES, France) on Bulgaria and Romania.

Bulgaria. The EP welcomes the "overall positive" progress report of the European Commission, but calls on the Bulgarian government to show "greater and more visible" determination to resolve remaining problems before April 2006. The Bulgarian government...
