Brussels, 22/12/2005 (Agence Europe) - The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has published its first annual report on infectious diseases which are transmissible from animals to humans. Such diseases afflicted over 380,000 European citizens in 2004. The human form of these complaints often originates in contaminated foodstuffs. According to the report, the two animal diseases which are most often transmitted to people are the Salmonella and Campylobacter infections.
