Brussels, 28/09/2005 (Agence Europe) - In a press release, Arnaldo Abruzzini, Secretary General of EUROCHAMBRES, has welcomed the presentation of the list of proposals the Commission hopes to withdraw as part of "Better Regulation", stating that this will allow the European leaders to concentrate on issues such as "the Services Directive, REACH or the financial perspectives which, if they are got right, will really lead to a fundamental change for business in Europe". The withdrawal of many of the proposals listed by the Commission "will not make much difference for the regulatory environment European businesses are faced with", however, he added, stating that this is just "the tip of the iceberg" and that a full examination of the 80,000 pages of European legislation is urgently required.
