ECAS COnference in Turin

Brussels, 28/09/2005 (Agence Europe) - ECAS (European Citizens Action Service), the organisation which is chaired by the former European Commissioner Mario Monti, is holding a conference in Turin on 21 and 22 October on the subject "Making Europe Local-Building Networks of Cooperation Between Civil Society and Public Administrations in the Enlarged Europe". A press release issued by ECAS indicates that the conference will concentrate mainly on the future cohesion policy of the EU, at a time when "certain Member States seemed to be bringing pressure to bear for an agreement on the rules governing the forthcoming structural funds by the end of this year" (see other article). The press release adds that Mario Monti will make proposals for the debate on the future of Europe, including the "Plan D" recommended by the European Commission.
