Commission surveys citizens on how to reduce impact of air traffic on climate change

Brussels, 11/03/2005 (Agence Europe) - On Friday, the European Commission launched a wide public consultation on the impact of aviation activity on climate change. Within the EU, CO2 emissions from the aviation sector increased by almost 70% between 1990 and 2002, according to a Commission press release. However, this upward trend is set to continue because world passenger air traffic was up nearly 14% in 2004 and the world aircraft fleet is set to double by 2020, the Commission continues....
