EP focuses on women's rights and calls for Benita Ferrero-Waldner and Javier Solana to visit Riyadh

Strasbourg, 11/03/2005 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday, the EP adopted a resolution welcoming the outcome of the first municipal elections in Saudi Arabia on 10 February 2005 but regretting the fact women were not able to vote. It urged the Saudi government to eliminate segregation and discrimination against women and gradually increase their involvement in politics.
