1st ordinary session of EuroMed Parliamentary Assembly

Brussels, 11/03/2005 (Agence Europe) - The EuroMed Parliamentary Assembly (EMPA) is to hold its first session from 12 to 15 March in Cairo after the constituent sitting in Athens in March 2004. Fathi Sorour, the president of the People of Egypt's Assembly, currently presides the Assembly. According to the system of rotation agreed, it is the president of the European Parliament, Josep Borrell who will take over from him after the meeting, for a one year term of office.
