SMEs call for car makers' monopoly on parts to be lifted

Brussels, 08/09/2004 (Agence Europe) - The battle between car manufacturers and independent parts producers continues to rage, pending a Commission proposal to liberalise spare parts production, a market estimated to be worth EUR 10 billion annually. Continually put off, the proposal should in principle be adopted on 14 September in Strasbourg.
