Brussels, 08/09/2004 (Agence Europe) -The central bank of Germany has cast doubt about how appropriate the measures proposed by the Commission concerning adjustment of the Stability and Growth Pact are (SGP: see EUROPE of 4 September, p.7). The Bundesbank's stance is a call for the Pact not to be weakened and for the goal of healthy public finances to be pursued, but also a criticism of several suggestions made by the Commission in its communication.
