Brussels, 08/09/2004 (Agence Europe) - The Commission's proposal aimed at reforming the Stability and Growth Pact received a cool welcome from the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) which has long been arguing that the “Pact restricts Europe's economic growth and could be a source of instability” (for the Commission's proposals, see EUROPE of 4 September, p.7).
