Brussels, 08/09/2004 (Agence Europe) - Before the Council decided last Friday on the conditions for Burmese participation at the ASEM Summit in Hanoi in October (EUROPE 7 September p 5) the European Parliament development committee informed it that it had refused EU participation at the summit if Burmese leaders attended (EUROPE 2 September p 7).
